Castle in the Sky

I was very pleased with the outcome of this image. I first started with a basic background image of clouds in the sky and another image of the Disney castle. I cut out the castle and copy and pasted it on to the sky image. I made it in to a seperate layer that way I could play with the features later on just the castle. Then, I opened up the same sky background again and cut out some clouds. I copy and pasted them on top of the castle that already had been put in the sky background. Next, I used the supernova filter to create a sun in the sky. The final thing I did was added lighting effects to create a realistic look.

TV Girl

This image was made from two seperate images: an old black and white TV, and a model posing on the side of a building. First, I cut out the girl from the background and did the same thing with the TV. I decided to make the feel of this picture more retro, so I tilted the TV and put filters on both the girl and TV. While I only intended this image to be a photoshopped collage, it turned out to be more like abstract art. Both images were seperate layers so I could edit each one seperately. I used HSV Noise on the TV, and then I completely changed the color of the girl to primarily red with some black. Then, I used a newsprint filter on the girl to make the image really unique.

Fairy in the City

This image was combined out of three different images. First, I cut out a photo of fairy wings and added them to the city background. I made the wings into a new layer so I could adjust them in the future. Next, I also cut out a photo of a girl in a prom dress and pasted her in the city picture as well. The girl was made into a layer too once on the city background. I took the wings layer and made them smaller then I made the girl the equivalent size.

The picture of these exotic flowers caught my attention even before I edited the image. First, I used the original photo and put a cartoonized filter on it. I played with the cartoon settings to create this look. Then, I enhanced the colors to make the image look more vibrant. The best thing about this picture is that it looks like a soft illustration.

Abstract art is a favorite of mine. In this picture I used a variety of different sizes of circles and stripes. The overlapping circles create a neat effect. I wanted to use stripes of all different sizes to make the appearance of the picture a look a little more complex than it actually is. The colors I decided to use are orange, green, and yellow. These colors create an energetic mood and make me feel happy when I look at it.

This was the easiest workshop for me. I was already used to cropping and turning my images to make them look more interesting. I had originally took a photo of my boyfriend's old car that had a lot of unnecessary things in the background that distracted attention from the car. Then, I cropped the image so that all the focus was on the red car. Finally, I slightly turned the car to make the image look more appealing.

The word "Rough" that was created was first set as an Impact font. Then, I stroke selected it and made it look more bulky. I searched through the filters and decided to go with cubism since it seemed to fit the definition of "rough". I adjusted the settings on the filter to create a custom look for the word. Finally, I added a plain black drop shadow to make the text appear more dimensional.
